Winter Pool Sessions (indoor)
Classes are taught by American Canoe Association trained and certified staff instructors of the Jersey Paddler and you may borrow Jersey Paddler equipment or bring your own.
Held at Neptune Aquatic Center in Neptune, NJ

SEA KAYAKING (TOURING) CLASSES
Rolling Practice Session
Come practice your roll and rescues and any other skills you’d like to in this open pool session with loose coaching from staff available. Bring your nose plugs, hand paddles, paddle floats and any other toys you’d like! Your choice to bring your own kayak or borrow all equipment from us

Cost per session: $40 if you borrow all equipment and a sea/touring or whitewater kayak; $30 if you bring your own equipment and kayak (plastic or composite welcome; please be sure it is cleaned thoroughly with vacuum and hose).
Indoor Rolling Class
Learn to roll this winter and spring. In this class, start by practicing J-leans and high braces, which contain important components of the roll. Move on to sweep strokes, hip snaps, getting comfortable upside down in the water, and then be introduced and coached through the extended paddle, sweep and C-to-C rolls. All equipment is provided; your choice of sea/touring kayak or a whitewater kayak.
Recommended prior experience: Basic Strokes and Rescues and/or Strokes and Maneuvers Refinement classes, or equivalent instruction--please call if you have any questions

Cost: $55 per person per class; fee includes all equipment (choice of sea/touring or whitewater kayak, paddle, and PFD/ lifejacket) or $50 if you bring your own kayak (must be well cleaned out with vacuum and hose).
RECREATIONAL KAYAKING CLASSES
Learn and Practice Rescues – Women’s Section
In a group of women participants, learn, review and strengthen your sea kayak rescue techniques so they become second nature. Watch demonstrations and then practice paddle float self-rescues, assisted re-entry T-rescues, and move on to alternatives such as the wet-reentry-and-roll with a paddle float and bow rescues. For touring/ sea kayaks and day-touring kayakers. Recommended prior experience: Basic Strokes and Rescue Class or equivalent sea kayaking introductory instruction--please call if you have any questions!

REGISTRATION
Class & Tour Requirements:
- All students are required to wear a PFD (Personal Flotation Device).
- Children taking classes and tours (unless marked otherwise) must be at least 11 years old; children under 16 must be with a parent or legal guardian enrolled and present the entire class.
- Full payment must be received with registration.
- Cancellations with ten days advance notice will refunded or rescheduled. If we must cancel the class, we will let you know as early as possible and offer to reschedule the session or give a refund.
- If you are bringing your own kayak to class, please make sure it is cleaned thoroughly inside and out.
