March 17, 2008, Brick, NJ – It might not feel like Spring yet, but the Paddlesport 2008 show will kick off the paddling season by bringing together more than 100 exhibitors who will present their latest products and share their passion for paddlesports. The 2008 show, presented by The Jersey Paddler and sanctioned by the American Canoe Association, will be held at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ from March 28 through March 30.
Outdoor enthusiasts will be able to find the latest models of canoes, kayaks and accessories from leading manufacturers, talk to professionals and clubs, attend free seminars by paddling experts, and learn about great places to paddle.
Highlights at the show include on Friday, the world's best paddling films on tour with the Reel Paddling Film Festival. Proceeds from the festival will be donated to Clean Ocean Action in support of their efforts to keep New Jersey's waters clean.
The Paddlesport pool is back! Join us all three days of the show for in-water Greenland rolling demonstrations with Dubside plus other in-water exhibitions and instruction.
“Over the years, there has been a growing interest in paddlesport activities,” said John Durrua, president of The Jersey Paddler. “This show is a great spot for paddlers of all levels to come together and plan for the new season.”
Paddlesport 2008 will be held at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ on Friday, March 28 (Noon to 9 pm), Saturday, March 29 (9 am to 6 pm) and Sunday, March 30 (10 am to 4:30 pm). About Paddlesport
The Paddlesport show, the largest kayak, canoe and outdoor consumer show on the East Coast, got its start 47 years ago with the gathering of a few local canoe clubs, retailers and manufacturers at a local college gymnasium. Over the years the show grew to where the local clubs could no longer handle the logistics. In 1981, the show was turned over to The Jersey Paddler of Brick, NJ, a family-owned business run by John Durrua and built by a family with a passion for paddling and exploring new places. Since 1998, the Paddlesport show has been held at the Garden State Exhibit Center, a 70,000 square foot facility.
