Bassyaks Trolling Motor Kit

Bassyaks offers complete trolling motor kits for those who already have a kayak or want to install it yourself, or we’ll build you one. Our Bassyak Kits include an internally and externally modified Minn Kota motor unit with a kayak-specific mounting bracket, throttle assembly, steering assembly, and hardware. Most kits are sub-assembled for ease of installation. You supply the kayak, battery, and time.

Bassyaks uses only the BEST trolling motors, we use brand new, out of the box Minn Kotas, and only the thrust lbs that actually work – there are no NOS 18 or 28 thrust motors like the other companies are trying to sell you, we don’t use them because “THEY DON’T WORK.” There are no erector-set mounts or side mounts, again “BECAUSE THEY DON’T WORK”

Bassyaks motors are rated IP68 that means submersible, Our wiring harnesses are IP68, everything in our kits is IP68!

Assembly time is about 5hrs. With normal tools, everything is mounted in an ergonomic place, keeping in mind not to ruin your kayak if you decide to remove the systems. The trolling motor can be removed in 30 seconds and the kayak will perform as it did before you made the modification. With the Lift Kit option you can raise and lower the motor from the seat at any time.

The Standard 30 kit includes:

• Kayak-specific mounting bracket
• Modified composite bracket
• Complete modified 30 thrust lb trolling motor
• Rear 5 pin connector with a 10-gauge marine-grade wiring harness
• A modified throttle switch with O-ring and mounting nut and knob (5 speeds fwd, 3 reverse)
• A 10-gauge wiring harness to the battery with a fuse holder and relay and safety switch
• Steering cables assembled from nylon coated 7x7 stainless steel, cable crimped, adjusting collars and sealing caps, and carabineers (note: there is no killswitch on sit-in kayaks)

Because each unit is custom-built, delivery time is about 4 to 6 weeks from the time the order is placed.
